My girlfriend and I broke up a few days ago. Though she initiated it, it ended up being mutual. It was friendly, it was done out of and with love, and the decision was not an entirely emotional one, but a mature and rational one as well. And yet, it was still shatteringly painful when we finally parted ways. Losing a friend is hard enough, losing an intimate confidant is harder still, but remember that love itself is never truly lost.
All this to say that, no matter how gruesome and aching this might feel, the pain is inevitable. So, welcome it, let yourself experience it, you will end up stronger. This break-up is your breakthrough, and happiness WILL eventually return.
